In my life this week...
My work week was pretty non-productive. Every idea for writing escaped me by the time I had time to sit at the computer. If it didn't escape me, a mood swing would inflict a child and take my focus away.
Last Saturday, the girls went to their first therapy session. Actually, we did a family session so that the therapist could "get to know" the family. It went very well and they're due to go back weekly. On Sunday, we went to the dollar theater to see "Here Comes the Boom". I hate violence so the boxing made me cringe. But the movie was pretty good overall. On Monday, we went on a field trip to learn about Manatees. The Manatees live here in the winter so we do this every year.
The rest of my week was spent trying to remember what I was going to write.
In our homeschool this week...
We're at the end of Week 7 of Term III. Lorelai started using an online reading improvement program. So far, she seems to enjoy it. We'll see how it works long-term. I'll let you know. I'm still seeking out something that will help Alexis with Dyscalculia/Math. So far I've found nothing. I did receive a suggestion from one of my readers to use colored paper. We're going to look into that. Color strips help her reading and so does changing the background color of websites. So maybe it will help her with math too.
My favorite thing this week was...
Getting outdoors with the other homeschoolers on our field trip. We were able to just enjoy the warmth of the sunshine and good friends!
Things I’m working on...
Keeping calm under financial pressure. Ya know.. single-mom-itis. It's a disease that goes into remission but recurs here and there. It results in great anxiety and insomnia. Hopefully it goes into remission before there's some major damage incurred.
Also, I really need to get myself back on a schedule. After months of battling the children's sleep dysfunctions, I'm off-track. I need to schedule out time to write/blog and stick to it! Perhaps then I'll get more done than I did this week.
